Against Corruptions

Election Observation Project will be carried out with reference to international standards for democratic elections and encourage civic participation in defense of electoral integrity.

Against Malpractice

Election Observation Project researchers will examine incidents of electoral malpractice, if any, investigate what cause them, and put forth reform proposals.

Support Justice

Election Observation Project observe the electioneering and voting day of District Council Elections in accordance with the principle of a “open, fair and honest election”.

The Comparative Governance and Policy Research Centre of the Department of Government & International Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University and Civil Rights Observer established The Election Observation Project (EOP) in 2019 with an objective to become an independent academic platform for elections held in Hong Kong. EOP conducts comprehensive examinations on the electoral processes in Hong Kong by organizing and offering support to election monitoring networks in all the 18 districts.

The Election Observation Project (EOP) was established in 2019 with an objective to become an independent academic platform for the electoral activities in Hong Kong. EOP conducts comprehensive examinations on Hong Kong’s electoral processes by organising and offering support to election monitoring networks in all the 18 districts. Furthermore, we wish to enhance the current electoral system in Hong Kong through systematic observation reports and academic research; cultivate a vibrant electoral culture in Hong Kong through civil education, such that public’s confidence in the democratic political system can be strengthened.
